Presented by DuckWorld PH, supported by the John Hay Management Corporation, and facilitated by the renowned UP Mountaineers, this hike-and-learn experience blends adventure, nature education, and comfort in the outdoors.

🌿 Explore the Trails

Tread with confidence on the pine-forest paths and rolling mountain trails as expert guides lead you through the natural wonders of Camp John Hay. These trails are designed to be accessible yet rewarding — perfect for beginners, families, and anyone curious about outdoor exploration.

Along the way, you’ll enjoy cool mountain air, lush forest landscapes, and scenic overlooks that make Baguio’s highlands such a beloved destination for nature lovers and eco-seekers alike.

🧗 Why UP Mountaineers Are the Best Guides

Mountain Magic is facilitated by the UP Mountaineers, one of the Philippines’ most respected outdoor organizations — with a legacy that spans over four decades. Founded in 1977, the UP Mountaineers helped shape the culture of responsible mountaineering in the country, and their training materials have influenced many other groups across the Philippines.

What makes them exceptional facilitators?

  • Deep experience in outdoor leadership: They have explored diverse terrains and helped document lesser-known trails.
  • A strong commitment to environmental stewardship: They advocate responsible mountaineering and respect for nature as part of every adventure.
  • A culture of education and safety: Members undergo rigorous training and uphold outdoor ethics, making them ideal guides for first-time hikers and seasoned nature lovers alike.

With their guidance, you’ll not only see the trails — you’ll learn to understand and care for them.

📘 What You’ll Learn Along the Way

Mountain Magic isn’t just a walk in the woods. It’s a hands-on nature journey, where you’ll learn practical outdoor skills and insights, such as:

  • Leave No Trace principles and trail etiquette
  • How to choose a low-impact campsite
  • A demo on stove operations and ABCs of Backpacking
  • A geological introduction to how Baguio’s mountains formed – module ℅ Dr. Jill Gabo-Ratio, Scientist III, UP Diliman

These quick and engaging modules make the outdoors welcoming and empowering.

🧺 The “Magic” Outdoor Picnic
